2024 brought with it several incredible honors that I am deeply humbled to receive. I was thrilled and grateful to accept the Buonissimo Award from ICCO Canada, a testament to the passion and dedication we pour into our craft.
Additionally, it was a proud moment to see Boccaccio Ristorante earn the prestigious marchio (seal) Ospitalità Italiana, a recognition of excellence in Italian hospitality. This achievement is a reflection of the tireless efforts of everyone involved in upholding the traditions and flavors of authentic Italian cuisine.
Calabrese Pride and Recognition
As a proud Calabrese, 2024 brought an unexpected and deeply meaningful accolade: being named Calabrese of the Year in the World by Presidente Provincia di Cosenza Dott.ssa Succurro and Vlady Nigro’s team from Calabria Food Tour. This honor reinforces my commitment to sharing and celebrating the rich culinary traditions of Calabria with the world.
Exciting Plans for 2025
As we step into 2025, I’m excited to announce several new initiatives and developments:
A New Pizza School in Toronto: We’re launching a pizza school for professionals, to share the art and tradition of crafting authentic Italian pizza. This school will provide hands-on experiences and teach the techniques that make Italian pizza world-renowned.
Enhancements at Boccaccio Ristorante: We are planning significant enhancements at Boccaccio Ristorante to elevate the dining experience further and continue delivering the excellence our patrons expect.
New Culinary Experiences: Stay tuned for the announcement of exciting new culinary experiences that will delight food lovers and bring them closer to Italian traditions.
Wine and Liquor Agency: We are adding a new division to our corporation—a wine and liquor agency. This expansion aims to serve you better by offering a curated selection of exceptional wines and spirits, perfectly complementing our culinary offerings.
Calabria Culinary Tour: Discover Your Roots
One initiative close to my heart is the Calabria Culinary Tour during Easter 2025. This immersive journey goes beyond food—it’s an opportunity to reconnect with your heritage and experience the essence of turismo delle radici (roots tourism).
